LOST FRATERNITY Sydney Event

Today we're revisiting one of LOST Events favourite events through the lens of the superbly talented GOLD HAT Photography.

"I was lucky enough to be able to shoot the latest in a string of party events based in Sydney, known simply as LOST Events. The concept harks back to the days where details of the event were spread by word-of-mouth to like-minded individuals, and the location disclosed by text message only on the morning of the event."

"The theme this time was the all American Fraternity, with throngs of energetic and beautiful Eastern suburbanites embracing the fancy dress and turning the site into a throbbing American frat party. We were blessed with a perfect summer’s day and gorgeous golden light to encapsulate the impromptu events – marching bands, low riders, American Football, cheer leaders … Whilst trying to remain under the radar, organic and non-commercial, it seems the LOST Events have still succeeded in attracting a strong and loyal following, and I’m looking forward to being a fly on the wall at the next one."

"If you’re interested in hiring a photographer who can capture the spirit of your event, get in touch here."

CONCRETE PLAYGROUND comes out firing

Thanks to the folks at Concrete Playground Sydney for the following piece about our upcoming SIN CITY Halloween party:

Walk down the right back alley in Sydney and you can find anything

They’ve taken you back to the skating days of Dogtown, knotted up the ascots at a pop-up Hunting Lodge and even travelled into space. Now, Sydney’s experts in pop-up immersive parties, LOST Events, are delving into the underbelly of society with their next party — themed Sin City.

Locked in for Saturday, October 31 (yep, Halloween), the next LOST party will take cues from crime, horror and noir films this time around. Location? The party will place in a “plush mystery crib”, ten minutes from Oxford Street “that you can bank on being First Class”. Here’s the breakdown from the team, to give you a bit of a clue: “LOST Events lure invite the bloodied, bad and beautiful to hitch a ride to the corrosive core of Sin City. Take a trenchant trip to a time when life is loose, love came cheap and the Demon Dog LOST Boys ran this town and kept it looking goooood.” Uh-huh.

The most important detail of all — what should you wear? LOST are reminding punters they’re entering the “chilling, ultraviolent and sleazy world of the hard-boiled”, so think flawed antiheroes (Dirty HarryPunisher), dirty cops (Training DayThe Departed), twisted weirdos (Zed in Pulp Fiction8MM), hard-drinking private investigators, tormented heroines, vengeful detectives, murderous billionaires and so on. LOST have even created a Sin City style guide on Pinterest, because they’re great like that.

As always with LOST events, there’ll be more precise instructions sent to guests personally on the day. The doors only open three times on the day — “when you come in, once you’ve served your time, or when you’re dead”. What the hell this means, we have no idea, so expect everything and anything.

LOST in Sin City is happening on Saturday, October 31 from 3-10pm. Tickets are $105, on sale Monday, August 24 from midday from LOST Events.

LOST BOOMBoX video launched

In 2009 the LOST Boys had a simple vision. Create an event with breathtaking views, good friends, good times and good music. On Saturday 24th January, 2015, 6 years after it all began and in the spirit of the ecstatically eclectic and bombastically dynamic cold chillin’ LOST Boys took it back... Waaaay back by paying homage to a simpler time when music was played loud and in public for all to hear - whether they liked it or not!

Like RUN DMC’s Adidas, LOST Events are always ORIGINAL! Meaning BOOMBoX was held at a new mystery location on the harbour, only accessible by boat, with music crowd sourced via retro BOOMBoXes.

BOOMBoX was fresher than angel tears as guests basked in the summer sun, enjoying the retro beats and million dollar views.

Secret sights of Sydney: VIP tips for those in the know

Nice mention of Lost Events in news.com.au & smh.com.au alongside our favourites: Secret FoodiesUnderground CinemaQT Sydney and The Winery!

"YOU may think you know everything there is to know about Australia’s biggest city.

But Sydney is home to the nation’s best exclusive and VIP experiences, providing something extra-special beyond the usual tourist haunts of Bondi and the Opera House.

It’s time to test yourself with our selection of favourites. How many of these hidden secrets are old news to you?"

LOST EVENTS

"If none of these experiences appeal, Lost Events may have the boutique party for you. It has hosted intimate lunches at country estates, chartered private trains, styled weddings and curated fashion shows. It has commandeered clifftop hotels, harbour islands, army bases and polo clubs, held twisted masquerade balls in film studios, frat parties in old hospitals, turned a skate park into a beach and turned Australia’s oldest farm into a Swiss chalet.

For more exciting experiences in and around Sydney for both tourists and locals, visit www.sydney.com and www.news.com.au."

Sydney Polo Club

On a more refined note our partners at Sydney Polo Club are hosting their annual Gold Cup this Sunday 19th October. If your first mental image of polo is the little guy on your shirt you’ve never experienced real polo!

By ‘polo’ we’re talking about the one Omar Khayyam (the 12th century Persian poet not the other guy) described as the King of Games and the Game of Kings. By ‘real’ we mean world class players. Full size championship fields. Sweat. Muscle. Heat. Horses with shaved manes and wrapped tails.

If you’ve never seen polo real or imagined this Sunday 19th is your chance as the Gold Cup is one of the biggest tournaments of the spring polo calendar, attracting several thousand people and we’ll be there suited up representing Nacho Figueras style.

To the inexperienced eye, polo translates to something akin to rugby on a horse; fast paced, explosive and intensely physical. We were fortunate to watch Ellerston (Jamie Packer’s team) recently play at SPC and were immediately hooked by the agility of the players, speed of the game and magnetism of the ponies. Goals came quickly, the game was highly entertaining and easy to follow.

The appeal of polo’s other secrets - vintage champagne, locally sourced wine, organic produce, exotic cars and pimms - are not entirely lost on us and Sydney Polo Club have it covered from every angle.

We'll be there making the most of the day so if you’re coming we suggest arriving before noon for a good spot, then come find us for a post-chukka drink and chat. We guarantee you will be enchanted.

Apparently Tim Kean is pretty good at throwing parties/events – some say he has even reinvigorated the events landscape. This is only proves how much I don’t get out, as I’d never heard of LOST Events before. Bingo and Canasta continue to rule my life..

One of these LOST events was held last weekend on Cockatoo Island, the theme was LOST In Space – everyone kinda dressed up in space theme, didn’t see any pictures of George Jetson tho. By all reports it was a fun event, the photos sure do look like fun. Wish I was there…
